Linda Lara is the Assistant Director for the College of Arts, Sciences & Education, Academic Advising Center at the Biscayne Bay Campus. She is a caring individual who provides an array of academic supportive services, including academic advising, mentoring, and career counseling. She has over 12 years of advising experience within higher education.
She earned a B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Higher Education Administration here at FIU. She has a strong desire for helping students to discover their passions and achieve academic success. She is always going above and beyond to resolve all students’ academic issues. She is reliable, compassionate, and committed to serving the university community and future panthers. She is ready to assist you!

No stranger to the FIU community, Tamara earned both her undergraduate degree and graduate degree from Florida International University. A Bachelor's degree in Public Administration and Master's in Higher Education Administration. With a passion for student engagement and academic success, Tamara began her career as an Academic Advisor working within the department of Psychology in Spring 2011. Since then, she has also served as advisor for the department's student group & co-developed their peer mentorship program in Spring 2015. Outside of the office, Tamara can be found servicing the community through her many involvements including Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Inc., The Urban Miami, & The Woodson Institute Miami.

Jeremy Rowan served six years as Assistant Dean for the Center for Academic Services in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education. He is now an Assistant Dean (based on the Biscayne Bay Campus) that oversees student success initiatives for CASE as well as Director of the Liberal Studies Program.
Dr. Rowan also teaches for the Department of History and the Liberal Studies. He focuses on the social and cultural history of Modern Britain, teaching survey courses on Modern European History and Western Civilization, in addition to upper-division courses in British History as well as the History of Ideas. Dr. Rowan’s research interests include the formation of business cultures, paternalism, and collective identities in late 19th and early 20th Britain.
